The world's most deadly Bow in Minecraft.

The world's most deadly Bow in Minecraft.

Alright, so we've seen mods and many of them. I think I just found my favorite one. It's simply called the 303 Arrows by 303. It's basically a bunch of arrows that can do many things. To give you a list, here: explosive, mob spawning, dirt spawning, slime spawning, fire arrows, and more. Yeah, all of that in one package. I mean, how awesome can this mod get? I'll tell you, it can't. But in all seriousness, you should really check this mod out. If you love fighting with bow and arrows, then you'll love this. Lastly, you can see quick video demonstration of how this amazing mod. I don't think you'll need a demonstration though.

303 says:

303 Arrows 1.81
An extended version of Risugami's excellent Elemental Arrows 1.42 mod. Requires my modified ModLoader.
Demonstation video (thanks, xShwan!)

How to install (thanks, creepy creeper!):

New arrow types:

  • Image Fire Arrow:
    Sets mobs on fire. Causes fire on the ground (like flint & steel).
    Recipe
    [Coal] Coal
    [|] Stick
    [-<->] Feather
    Yields 1 arrow.

  • Image Ice Arrow:
    Converts lava into obsidian, water into ice, puts out fire and torches within a certain radius. Extinguishes burning mobs.
    Recipe
    [White] Snow ball
    [|] Stick
    [-<->] Feather
    Yields 1 arrow.

  • Image Explosive Arrow:
    Causes a TNT explosion where the arrow lands.
    Recipe:
    [GP] Gunpowder
    [|] Stick
    [-<->] Feather
    Yields 1 arrow.

  • Image Egg Arrow:
    Spawns a random friendly mob where the arrow lands. "Converts" hit mobs into friendly ones.
    Recipe:
    [White] Egg
    [|] Stick
    [-<->] Feather
    Yields 1 arrow.

  • Image Torch Arrow:
    Spawns torches where the arrow lands. Sets mobs on fire. Stays recollectable if no torch can be placed. Great for lighting big underground caverns and overhanging mountains.
    Recipe:
    [--+] Torch
    [|] Stick
    [-<->] Feather
    Yields 1 arrow.

  • Image Dirt Arrow:
    Puts a dirt block at the target. Good for putting out water/lava falls from a safe distance. Block skeletons' line of sight.
    Recipe:
    [soil] Dirt
    [|] Stick
    [-<->] Feather
    Yields 1 arrow.

  • Image Slime Arrow:
    Spawns a slime. Possibly larger than they occur naturally.
    Recipe:
    [Green] Slime drop
    [|] Stick
    [-<->] Feather
    Yields 1 arrow.

  • Image Mob Arrow:
    Spawns a random hostile mob (Creeper, Skeleton, Zombie, Slime, Spider, … Giant!).
    Recipe:
    [Black] Soul mud (found in hell)
    [|] Stick
    [-<->] Feather
    Yields 1 arrow.

Extension arrows:
As my arrows mod has a modular design, it's possible to add a new arrow just by adding appropriate files to the archive. No recompilation required.

  • Image Warp Arrow. Another collaboration with Ayutashi. Teleports the player to where the arrow lands if possible. Available on Ayutashi's topic. Check out the demonstration video.

  • Image Tree Arrow.
    Spawns a fully grown tree. If a tree can't be placed there (that is, if the arrow doesn't land on dirt or grass), the arrows stays recollectable like normal arrows. There's a 1 in 4 chance a big tree is generated.
    Recipe:
    [Leaves] Tree sapling
    [|] Stick
    [-<->] Feather
    Yields 1 arrow.

  • Image Grass Arrow. In a 3x3x3 area around the target, this arrow replaces dirt with grass and cobblestone to mossy cobblestone and plants crops on tilled soil. Terraform the Nether!
    Recipe:
    [....] Seeds
    [|] Stick
    [-<->] Feather
    Yields 1 arrow.

New features:

  • No need to manually edit your gui/items.png anymore! Modifies the internal OpenGL textures of the running program automatically with the arrow sprites.

  • Compatible with any texture size. Automatically scales arrow sprites to fit gui/items.png.

  • Changes how arrows are selected: The previous hard-coded order is gone. The mod now selects the first arrow type in the inventory.

  • Adds keybindings for cycling between arrows in the inventory: Comma (,) cycles left, period (.) cycles right. Configurable: Create a "mods/303Arrows" folder in your .minecraft folder and create a new file called "303Arrows.properties" with the following format:
    Code: Select all
    cycle_left_key = COMMA
    cycle_right_key = PERIOD
    The keys must be valid key names or mouse button names (BUTTON1, BUTTON3 etc.). I couldn't test if it works with extra buttons on mice because I
    am on a laptop. It doesn't seem to, it appears.

  • With a bow in hand, displays the name of the currently selected arrow in the upper left corner.

  • Ice arrows now require a snow ball instead of a water bucket, yielding one arrow. If you hit a mob that is on fire, its fire will be put out, as if it had come in contact with water.

  • Egg arrows now spawn a random friendly mob instead of only chickens.

  • Now with DerrikeG's awesome arrow sprites (thank you, kind gentleman):
    Image

Known bugs:

  • If you first take your bow in hand, the name of the selected arrow is not yet displayed. Cycle between arrows to make it work.

  • Changes in the inventory will not be reflected in the on screen display. Cycle between arrows or shoot an arrow.
